Talent / Star Talent 78rpm numerical listing

Dallas, TX; ca April 1949 ~ March 1950

Talent records was an extension of Jesse Erickson's record store. The label name was changed mid-life (from Talent to Star Talent), presumably to avoid conflict with a contemporaneous "Talent" label from Philadelphia.
Most recording activity seems to have taken place in 1949, although I haven't been able to pinpoint any exact dates.

NOTE: This listing is created for research and educational purposes only. I only own a small proportion of the phonograph records listed, and those I own are NOT FOR SALE. I also have no particular insight as to how to acquire them. With the information you have found here, search eBay, gemm.com, or post a question to 78-C. Otherwise, you'll need to spend hours over a period of time searching junk stores, garage sales, record auctions (both mail and internet), and anyplace else that may have 78rpm discs for sale.

While researching this label, I ran across The Hillbilly Researcher. Many thanks to this site for helping me plug in most of my missing information regarding this label. It is a treasure trove of information for obscure Hillbilly/Country releases from the 40s and 50s.

There is also an interesting article regarding Star Talent from the Dallas Observer from 1995
